New Project Staff join Acorn House
Published - Friday, 16 June, 2006
It is an exciting time for the Milton Keynes Community Foundation’s Acorn House Project, with the arrival of two new project staff members to take forward the initiative.

The well-known local grant making organisation commenced the Acorn House project with the successful application for a grant of £375,000 from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister in 2004, along with a contribution from the Foundation’s property company.

The project aims to develop the city-centre office block into a flagship building for the local community, to meet the growing needs of Milton Keynes and to provide accessible, flexible and affordable facilities and services.

Both Jennifer Drewell, Acorn House Project Manager, and Beatrice Ashley, Acorn House Project Officer, joined the team in May this year, with the task of managing and developing the facilities that are available to local charities, community groups and small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

Acorn House facilities include a state-of-the-art Conference and Training Suite, a variety of meeting rooms, a Hot Desk Suite, Crèche and Membership Scheme to promote resource-sharing and accessible, discounted services.

Speaking about her appointment as Acorn House Project Manager, Jennifer said: “I’m delighted to be in a position to develop the fantastic resources that have been created at Acorn House, and look forward to working with all the local charities, voluntary sector organisations and SMEs that will benefit from resource-sharing and accessing professional facilities at affordable rates.”
